Novi smještajNovoPlay Australian rules football on Melbourne’s famous fields
Visit some of Melbourne’s most celebrated sporting complexes and venues with me, a sports insider, and learn why the city is called “the sporting capital of the world.” At each location, I’ll share its history and teach you how to play Australian rules football and the Indigenous game of marn grook.
• We’ll start with a tram ride—just like the locals do—from Federation Square to Melbourne & Olympic Parks, home to seven elite national sporting teams.
• Walk through Melbourne Park and its Tennis Center, which is home to the Australian Open, and I’ll tell you all about the history of these world-renowned stadiums, which date back more than 170 years.
• At Olympic Park, home of Australian rules football, I’ll give you a few lessons in the basics of Aussie rules, and you’ll get a chance to play the Aboriginal game of marn grook.
• Our last stop is Melbourne Cricket Ground, one of the largest sports stadiums in the world and the epicenter of the Australian Football League.
Before we part ways, we’ll grab a drink at my favorite bar inside MCG, where I’ll answer questions about the venues and my career, and you can share reflections on your own sporting adventures.
